Harry to rekindle the X Factor

We’ve taken a look at this week’s Mondogoal £10k Shootout which features 9 of the 10 Premier League fixtures being played this weekend. Aston Villa will be smarting after throwing away a 2 goal lead at Leicester last time out, however, they should see plenty of the ball against a struggling Baggies team in the Midlands derby. Jack Grealish managed to get himself on the scoresheet against the Foxes and is included in our line-up along with Jordan Amavi who has carried over last season’s impressive Ligue 1 form into the Premier League.

Team Expectancies

We like to focus on team expectancies to identify fixtures that are potentially favourable for home sides. Newcastle are rooted to the bottom of the table but Steve McClaren’s men are only expected to concede 1.18 goals this weekend which is less than the 1.42 per game they were shipping at home last season. They entertain a Watford side that has only found the net 3 times this season so we’re looking for a shut-out here. Tim Krul gets the nod between the sticks and we have included both of their full-backs - Massadio Haidaro and Daryl Janmaat, two players who like to get forward at every opportunity.

Mondogoal Fantasy Football

There’s no real surprise in seeing Manchester City pencilled in with the highest goal expectancy. However, with it being the late game on Saturday it’s imperative that you include City players that will be in the starting line-up. We’ve decided to swerve Sergio Agüero and Kevin de Bruyne for this reason opting instead for Raheem Sterling, David Silva and Yaya Touré. All three started in the midweek defeat to Juve and should be fit to go again here.

Liverpool really missed Philippe Coutinho at Old Trafford and will be desperate to get their season back on track when they host the Canaries. The Brazilian is included along with Christian Benteke.

Harry Kane

In a recent WhoScored article, Jonathan Wilson predicted that Harry Kane would soon get back amongst the goals for Spurs. He finished last season valued at £12.2m but is now available at £8.8m. If the floodgates do open for the England ace he might just be the one that propels you into the money. A decent performance from new signing Heung-min Son in the Europa League bodes well and we think this could be the week for Kane to prove that’s he no one season wonder.

The field is capped at 5500 entries but you only need to finish in the top 1100 places to guarantee a 50% return on investment. The entrance fee is £2 and multiple entries are permitted so give it a go!

Here’s our provisional team of the week
