“A man with new ideas is mad until he succeeds” Mario Bielsa, Former Marseille Manager
Game Intro
Oulala covers 4 main European Leagues – English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, French Ligue 1 and Italian Serie A and also has a ‘live coaching’ feature which enables managers to make in-play substitutions, decisions that will often prove pivotal to the outcome of a contest.
"It was not only spectacular but also emotionally intense. It had all the ingredients of defensive and attacking play. It had everything." Gerard Houllier, Former Liverpool Manager
Game Rules
All results will be determined by the number of points accumulated by each entrant’s roster. You will be given a budget of 100 million Euros and can choose up to 17 players but must have a minimum of 11.
You are allowed to make up to 3 substitutions from a maximum of 6 substitute players and you can adjust formation as long as you follow the team selection guidelines.
"We were able to react in the second half to transform a catastrophic situation into a moment of euphoria." Raymond Domenech, Former French National Coach
Team Selection
You must purchase at least 11 players and they must consist of at least 1 goalkeeper, between 3 and 5 defenders, between 3 and 5 midfielders and 1 to 3 strikers. To purchase a player, simply drag him into his position on the pitch and your budget will decrease according to the player’s price.
"I have got to get somebody who's going to score goals. But we haven't got a lot of money and that means it's not easy." Glenn Hoddle, Former England manager
You can choose from any of the following starting formations:
3-4-3 3-5-2 4-3-3
4-4-2 4-5-1 5-3-2 5-4-1
Competition Lobby
Oulala allows you to create your own contests. You can select games from any of the 5 leagues offered but the matches must take place on the same day. You can create head to head or league contests which can be private or public.
You can decide on the buy-in for a league (€1 to €200) or opt to make it a free to enter league and choose how the prize pool will be distributed (winner takes all, select percentages applicable to each of the placings or stipulate that 1/3rd of the field will receive prizes).
Alternatively, you can select to join an existing contest from the game lobby menu. The sum of buy-in paid by all entrants in a contest will be distributed to the winners accordingly (minus a commission of 10%, referred to as rake).

Scoring System
Points are attributed according to the players’ position on the field and their subsequent actions during a match. Kick-off times vary so you will not be able to replace a player whose match has finished.
Please note that there is always a 1 minute delay to the points calculations so whenever a player is replaced his points will continue to be added to the team until he is taken out. A substitutes points will be counted from the moment he steps onto the pitch.

Summary
-
An unprecedented scoring system which is far more comprehensive than anything else currently offered within the industry
-
In-play substitutions allowing managers to really influence the outcome of a contest
-
Strictly Daily format where all games take place on same day
Oulala is a great addition to the monetized daily fantasy football market. Hopefully more leagues will be introduced at some point in the near future and perhaps a league filter showing contests that are made up only of fixtures from a specific league would also be of help when a greater number of contests start being created.
