Roaming Silva to stir up a Hornets Nest

Manchester City have started the season in tremendous fashion and the signs are already looking ominous for the chasing pack. Pellegrini bided his time with his summer transfers but got his men in the end with the captures of Sterling, Delph and Otamendi. The arrival of Raheem Sterling has added a new dimension to the City attack and the chief beneficiary seems to be David Silva who now has an abundance of pace to work with in the shape of Aguero and Navas supporting the ex-Liverpool man in a 3-pronged attack. Silva has been given the freedom of the park and picks his passes at will and looks ‘captain’ material this weekend as we introduce you to a new daily fantasy football game.

FanTeam have rebranded from Woofbet and are offering a 300 EUR freeroll contest on this weekend’s Premier League card. This serves has the ideal opportunity to learn more about the idiosyncrasies of the FanTeam game rules and also allows us to take a closer look at their team selection process. The table below shows the goal expectancies for each side based on bookmakers odds and the home sides marked in blue have fixtures that might be classed as favourable. Home goals highlighted in green indicate fixtures where the goal expectancy is higher than what the home sides averaged at home last season while away goals marked in orange show expected concession rates that are lower than the average number of goals the hosts conceded at home last season.

EPL Fixtures

The FanTeam scoring system centres around traditional fantasy football values – clean sheets, assists and goals so those are the areas we will focus on primarily. Simon Mignolet put in an impressive display against Arsenal and is selected in goal. Aston Villa look to have a good chance of a shut-out against Sunderland and both full-backs offer plenty going forward. Leandro Bacuna has a terrific shot while new signing Jordan Amavi loves to bomb forward at every opportunity. Eric Dier who has been anchoring the Spurs midfield but is classified as a defender completes our defence.

David Silva features in a 5-man midfield with Coutinho, Jack Grealish, Pedro and Riyad Mahrez while Callum Wilson and Christian Benteke get the 2 spots up front. Wilson and Mahrez have both been in sensational form so we are happy to include them. Benteke and Coutinho have an ideal looking fixture while Pedro, who impressed on his Blues debut, is already taking plenty of Chelsea’s corners which is always a positive especially with the aerial threat they possess. Grealish looks to have recovered from his summer excesses and could be ready to shine now. Aaron Cresswell gets a spot on the bench in case either Bacuna or Dier misses out.

Selecting the right captain is vitally important with double points on offer and we’re happy to go with David Silva with his licence to roam!
